Thor Sølyst Farup (2000), is a multimedia researcher and builder, working primarily with wood, metal, programming and visual media. His work engages with socio-political, scientific and ecological dimensions of society, culture and nature. Combining research,documentation, speculative design, sculpting, audio/visual coding and game-design,he reinterprets and questions the dominant worldviews while exploring alternate realities and ways of being. His work often emphasises interconnectedness, technical process and the structural systems that shape our environment
Through his practice Thor invites the audience into often immersive and interactive installations questioning our roles and use of society, nature and sometimes reality itself.
Thor grew up in Aarhus, Denmark and is now based in Amsterdam, where he is currently attending the second year of DesignLAB department, bachelor’s program, at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie.
